Update on my brother

Most everyone knows by now that Zane got dengyv fever while visiting Ecuador for 3 weeks. He had about 106 temp for a few days, and probably should have spent the last few days of the trip in the hospital! His fever has returned to normal now, and he made it out to church today for a few hours. (He said that if he didn't go to church Mom wouldn't let him work.. haha) Pretty scary there for a while, but he seems to be doing better. Still has some recovery time though.
Carson experienced the joy of tornados the other nite, along with our friends visiting from cali. I had just fallen asleep when Carson wakes me up telling me to get in the bathtub. Now I have lived here most of my life and grown used to tornado warnings, so I tend to not take them as seriously as some of the new okies. I had just fallen back to sleep when he woke me up again saying it really was headed for Broken Arrow, so we got the kids and somehow managed to all squeeze in the tub. Then came phone calls... Elizabeth (friend from cali, asking "what do we do?") my sister ("Are you watching this?") my brother ("are elizabeth and rick okay?") I just wanted to sleep!! Luckily the storm passed quickly and we all got back to bed with no harm done to the house or anything, just a couple of tree limbs down. This week has been quite the week for storms around here!
Little mister Easton cut his first tooth this week and is sick on top of that! Poor baby. He is still quite mellow through it all, but I am ready for the cold to be over. Addie has enjoyed having Jon visit. He is 10 months, and she loves him. If only she loved her brother as much.. she has been tormenting him a little lately. Taking toys, pushing him down, getting in his face.. all of which he has decided he does NOT like! He's very opinionated for an 8 month old!
Well pray we survive another week in this crazy weather!

Zane and Michelle's wedding May 9, 2008

Pictures of the kids at Zane and Michelle's wedding! They hung outside taking hundreds of pictures during the sealing. This picture of Easton really shows off his round face! :) Where do these cheeks come from? ... Addie loved her princess tutu, and was the star of the show (besides Michelle of course!)

The calm before the storm!

Sunday left many of us wondering yet again, why is it that we live in Oklahoma? During Sunday school at church the power went out and we spent the next 30 minutes in the hallway with everyone watching the powerful wind storm that ended up putting a tree in my sister's roof! The damage could have been a lot worse, but it is still going to be quite the pain getting it all taken care of! (Sorry Ging!) Addie handled the storm well considering she had recently decided that thunder is the scariest thing on the planet! (Yet she loves the sharks on Finding Nemo.. I don't get it!) Easton of course had no clue what the big deal was. He was perfectly content to be eating his puffs and held by his Mama! What a sweet mama's boy he is! And think.. I was terrified of a boy! (still am actually.. I once babysat this boy and he made me name all his trucks, and he then told me I came up with the lamest names ever! How am I suppossed to know what to name a truck?)
Anyway, Addie has decided that she would much rather be at my friend Tricia's house than ours. Tricia watches the kids while I work, and Addie has really taken to her and her kids. I am glad. She asks for Tricia all day, and prays for her at nite! I am lucky to have such a sweet 2 year old. I hear they all aren't so sweet :)
We are excited that our friends Elizabeth, Rick, and Jon are coming tomorrow from California! Elizabeth and I have known each other for 22 years almost, and lived together during college (her college.. not mine.) So I am busy preparing for that, and awaiting the return of my family who has been in Ecuador for almost 3 weeks! Looking forward to seeing you all!
